Hello to all my family, friends and fans. I invite you all to join me as I embark on the next phase of promoting Woodland Dental Hygiene and my commitment to a holistic/environmental approach to oral health care.
The decision to pioneer this new concept in preventive oral health care comes mainly from some challenges to my own health and the need to have control over what I subject my body, mind and spirit to. This, coupled with legislative changes in September 2007 allowing Dental Hygienists to practice without a dentist led me to believe that this was what was needed for not only my health, but for my patients and the planet as well.
For those of you that know me well, you know that I always seek to challenge myself no matter the physical and emotional cost. I now believe that I have taken on my greatest challenge so far and that everything up until now both good and not so good was preparing me for this next chapter in my life.
Most important to me is providing my patients with information through education. I have always considered myself somewhat of an information junkie and now I am about to begin passing on to others, some of the incredible information I have accumulated regarding oral health and how it relates to your overall health. I believe that I am meant to be a conduit of this information and my goal is to have each of you challenge many of your traditionally held beliefs through self-education of the topics I will be discussing.
I fully expect to be somewhat controversial and with the mind-set of being pro-active, I also expect to encounter some opposition. I believe that I am up to this challenge and that the time has come for me to publically address issues that may be compromising your health and the health of the planet.
Typical dental offices can be very toxic places to the people that work there and the patients who visit them.
Many of the routine treatments and procedures standard in most dental offices may actually be undermining your immune system and your overall health. I will be discussing some of these topics in upcoming blogs.
Many of you know that I have a great affinity for anything Einsteinian lately. I have recently read the latest biography of him written by Walter Isaacson and I have Einstein quotes delivered to my desk top daily that I then post in my office for others to enjoy as well. I do believe that if I could do anything in the world I wanted to, I would study quantum physics; I still have a few years left so well see. We really are all made of energy and time and space are relative!
In closing I will finish with my favorite Einstein quote:
I think that only daring speculation can lead us further and not accumulation of facts. Albert Einstein
I look forward to comments on this and future blog posts and to the opportunity to get to know you all better. Here on my blog, I offer commentluv, which means when you leave a comment, you will be able to leave a link back to your own blog – great for search engine optimization!!
To your good health,
