Medical Medium: The Role of Microbes in Oral Diseases

Medical Medium

I recently read Medical Medium, a new book by medical intuitive Anthony William, and it has resonated immensely with my own intuition about the role microbes may play in many diseases, including oral diseases.

According to William, the medical establishment is decades away from uncovering the truths espoused in his book, largely centering on the Epstein Barr virus.  The Epstein Barr virus belongs to the family of herpes viruses including those that cause cold sores, genital herpes, chickenpox and shingles and has been found to be responsible for mononucleosis and Sjogren’s syndromeSjogren’s syndrome is a chronic disorder of the immune system in which the patient’s white blood cells attack the saliva and tear glands, leading to dry mouth and eyes because the body’s tear and saliva production is reduced.  Since this oral manifestation is something I have to be on the look-out for, he had my attention!

Medical Medium reveals the root causes of diseases and conditions that medical communities either misunderstand or struggle to understand at all. It explores all-natural solutions for dozens of the illnesses that plague us, including Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome, hormonal imbalances, Hashimoto’s disease, multiple sclerosis, depression, neurological conditions, chronic inflammation, autoimmune disease, blood-sugar imbalances, colitis and other digestive disorders, and more.

My interest in all things microbial began about 5 years back when I came across two books written by Allen Cantwell MD: The Cancer Microbe and 4 Women Against Cancer.  I purchased the latter and read about the untold story of four outstanding women scientists who discovered the bacterial cause of cancer back in the 1950s and whose research was ignored, overlooked, or was actively suppressed by the cancer establishment and the powers that be.

Physician Virginia Livingston, MD; microbiologist Eleanor Alexander-Jackson; cell cytologist Irene Diller; and world-famous biochemist Florence Seibert -all of whom discovered an easily detectable microbe in cancer-a germ whose existence is still totally denied by the medical establishment. Unlike any infectious agent known to science, the cancer microbe has characteristics of both bacteria and viruses-and produces a remarkable hormone that allows life to continually reproduce and renew itself.  According to the book, the microbe had not been found because firstly, no one was looking for it and secondly, they did not have the right tests to find it.

To reiterate; In Medical Medium, Williams reveals the root causes of diseases and conditions that medical communities either misunderstand or struggle to understand at all…this sounds like the same dilemma the 4 Women Against Cancer were up against but instead bypasses scientific research and validation with spirit-derived wisdom.

I like that William’s delves into the spiritual and emotional component of disease manifestation which I feel are so important when trying to heal and largely left out of western, allopathic medical care and that diet and herbal supplements are key ingredients to self-healing.

The stretch for most of us is that this information is not backed by science (yet) but by Spirit.  Can we trust it?  Can we trust him?

  1. Hi, I have read this book and his other book re: healing foods. I’m hopeful but also hesitant to fully trust. But I have a “mystery” mouth issue. For the past few years I’ve had deep lower right jaw pain, achey, throbs sometimes in evening. I had a biopsy and some stuff removed — the wound filled back in nicely and no cancer. Yet this deep ache has persisted for three years! Teeth are healthy (am told they’re perfect, beautiful) but I did have a cold sore/fever blister come out recently (diagnosed by family doctor) that’s been there for a month. Antivirals don’t make it go away. Could this deep pain and almost constant ache be related to the cold sore? Or do you know what else it could possibly be? Please let me know if you can!

  2. This is very unusual sounding indeed! I doubt it is a cold sore as they are viral and typically last 7-14 days.
When you say that you had a biopsy, did they open up the bone and go in or was it a soft-tissue biopsy? Did the person/dentist you saw comment on what they thought the aching was caused by?

    In Health,

  3. Dear Kathleen no one knows! I have seen 2 oral surgeons — the one that operated did go into the bone I believe and cleared out the substance in there and sent the tissue to pathology which cleared me from cancer.

The sore is still there but smaller this week. The 2 dentists in the office I go to are confounded but concerned. The surgeon and both of them think the pain is likely from bruxism. My main dentist wants me to see another oral surgeon but they’re expensive. I do have a mouth guard to sleep in but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

If you have any thoughts or recommendations at all I would love to hear them. Thank you so much for responding! Blessings,

  4. Hi Again Amy,

This really sounds quite troublesome as well as perplexing! May I ask where you live?

  5. Dear Kathleen, I live in Naples, Florida. It looks like you are in Canada? Otherwise, I would come see you immediately. I used to live in Chicago and have thought about going up there for a second (fifth! 🙂 opinion. I’m also going to see a Chinese medicine practitioner this week. If it is TMJ/bruxism, maybe she can help. Let me know if you have other ideas or thoughts. Thank you!

  6. Hi Amy,

I really do believe that Chinese Medicine can be of great help, so hopefully you will get some relief!

Are you familiar with Dr. Robert Rowen? He is an MD in California that believes in the oral/systemic connection and I would suggest maybe having a look at some of his youtube videos to get a feel for what he is doing. My experience has been, that sometimes it takes a great deal of trying different paths and searching for the right person to help you.

Here is a link to his website and what he believes:
