Xylitol is a naturally occurring substance that looks and tastes like sugar. In fact, our own bodies produce up to 15 grams of Xylitol every day from foods we eat and it occurs naturally in many other foods such as fruits, berries, mushrooms and lettuce.
Classified as a carbohydrate, Xylitol has been used in the food industry since the 1960’s and because of its reduced caloric claim: 2.4 calories per gram, it has a whopping 40% less calories than other carbohydrates and has been a popular sweetener for diabetics in some countries.

Unlike many of my colleagues I have refused to support the use of fluoride supplementations over the years, preferring instead to control oral health through home care and diet. It was a gut feeling I had when my children were infants and in light of recent studies I am glad I went with my instincts.

However……. a growing body of evidence indicates that fluoride is neither safe or effective and thousands of health, medical, dental and environmental professionals are calling for an end to fluoridation worldwide.
Make no mistake, Fluoride is a drug and it is the only drug in the world that is added to the municipal water supply to actually treat humans.
